2-Round Mock Draft: Only 3 quarterbacks go in top-64 picks
Supply and demand is high at the quarterback position this year, but are NFL teams really that desperate?
As we hit Week 12 of the NFL season and Week 13 of the College Football season and as we near the 2025 NFL Draft festivities, it’s about time for a two-round mock draft.
The quarterbacks will be and have been the most discussed players in this draft class (guilty, it’s what I mainly do), but let’s face it: it’s a bad class of quarterbacks. All but one have experienced massive ups and downs, struggling to find consistent output on Saturdays.
This class will align closely with the classes of 2013 and 2022. The difference this year, however, is that the demand for quarterbacks is high. Will NFL teams get desperate and make a run at a relatively lackluster supply?
Which quarterbacks come off the board in the top-64 picks here, and where do they land?
1. Jacksonville Jaguars: CB/WR Travis Hunter, Colorado
It’s boring to mock Travis Hunter first overall every time, but come on. He’s the best player in the 2025 NFL Draft and deserves the Heisman Trophy.
2. Tennessee Titans: QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
I hope Shedeur Sanders loves country music. The Titans are ready to move on from Will Levis and Sanders is the only quarterback worth an early pick. Brian Callahan gets his new signal caller in Nashville.
3. Cleveland Browns: DT Mason Graham, Michigan
Sanders is off the board? Take the best player available. And in this case that is Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham. The Browns now have a lethal young duo of Mike Hall Jr. and Graham to wreak havoc for a long time.
4. Las Vegas Raiders: CB Will Johnson Jr., Michigan
Vegas is far more than just a quarterback away. They are more than likely to change regimes again before drafting a quarterback. So go get the best player on the board right now at a position of need in Michigan cornerback Will Johnson.
5. New York Giants: QB Cam Ward, Miami
Do I personally believe Sanders is the only quarterback worth a first round pick in this class? Yes. But I know how supply and demand works. Besides, the Giants have a stud left tackle and a star wide receiver to surround Cam Ward with, and Brian Daboll’s job is on the line. Welcome to the Big Apple, Cam (and I hope they give you time to ease into the NFL)!
6. New England Patriots: EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State
After losing Matthew Judon in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons, the New England Patriots find another standup pass rusher who Jerod Mayo can deploy in a variety of looks. Abdul Carter has been a havoc wreaker since entering Big 10 play and does not look to be slowing down.
7. New York Jets: TE Tyler Warren, Penn State
A week ago I posed the question: How high is too high for Tyler Warren? Then he went out and dropped 200 total yards and two touchdowns against Purdue. The sky is the limit. Looking to capitalize in Aaron Rodgers’ final year, they get him another offensive weapon.
8. Carolina Panthers: WR Isaiah Bond, Texas
A surprise WR1 here? Thank Quinn Ewers for that who cannot seem to connect with the most open wideout in the country. Isaiah Bond’s tape is electric and he’d be a Biletnikoff finalist if Arch Manning was starting. Carolina adds another offensive weapon.
9. Dallas Cowboys: RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State
This has to be one of the most mocked picks ever, right? The Cowboys need a running back, and Ashton Jeanty rules. The Heisman contender is deserving of a top-10 pick and becomes just that here.
10. New Orleans Saints: WR Luther Burden III, Missouri
Chris Olave is thinking hard about his future in football after yet another concussion, and beyond him the depth chart in New Orleans is bleak at the wide receiver position. Who knows what the future holds on that overspent roster, so why not add a dynamic playmaker you can at least manufacture touches for?
11. Cincinnati Bengals: WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona
The future is dicey for the Cincinnati Bengals and wideout Tee Higgins. Here they add the wide receiver that might compare most closely to him in Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan. While McMillan might not be a burner and struggles to separate down the field, he has the catch radius of a pterodactyl and will slide right into a role that may be left by Higgins this offseason.
12. Miami Dolphins: OG Will Campbell, LSU
While Will Campbell will kick inside to guard at the NFL level, he is still the best overall offensive lineman in the class. He may be just an average mover, but he has S-tier play strength and the ability to displace anyone in the gap across from him. The Dolphins have needed a guard for the last half decade and take Campbell here.
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: LB/EDGE Jalon Walker, Georgia
Joe Tryon-Shoyinka has not worked out for the Buccaneers and they lack a linebacker. Addressing both positions with hybrid player Jalon Walker from Georgia, they get a base-down linebacker who can pin his ears back in obvious pass rush situations. This is an All-Fun pick for Todd Bowles.
14. Chicago Bears: OG Kelvin Banks Jr., Texas
The Bears need a guard badly. Braxton Jones has grown into his own this season, and Darnell Wright is holding down the right tackle slot. Here, they take a standout college tackle whose set depth and heavy feet will kick him inside to guard at the NFL level. Caleb William rejoices.
15. Indianapolis Colts: S Malaki Starks, Georgia
The secondary depth in Indianapolis is a disaster. While they desperately need cornerback help, they take the best overall defensive back off the board here in the standout Georgia safety Malaki Starks. Just as he did at the college level, look for him to make a day-one impact.
16. Seattle Seahawks: OT Cameron Williams, Texas
Charles Cross has had a dominant season at left tackle for the Seattle Seahawks. Opposite him, however? Not so much. The Seahawks address the issue here by selecting Texas right tackle Cameron Williams to give them a 6-foot-5 and 335-pound freak athlete to bookend their offensive line.
17. Los Angeles Rams: OT Josh Simmons, Ohio State
Josh Simmons started to get some OT1 hype from the likes of The Athletic’s Dane Brugler and Bleacher Report’s Brandon Thorn. Then he suffered a season-ending knee injury. That is to the benefit of the Los Angeles Rams here, as they are now able to get him at pick No. 17.
18. San Francisco 49ers: EDGE Mykel Williams, Georgia
Leonard Floyd is currently starting opposite of Nick Bosa in San Francisco, and as their budget tightens he is a logical cap casualty. To replace him here in this mock draft, the 49ers draft the alien-built Mykel Williams and will coach him up to figure out the rest. Some freaks are worth taking that kind of chance on.
19. Denver Broncos: TE Colston Loveland, Michigan
The Denver Broncos are the surprise of 2024. Bo Nix is playing better every week, and they keep winning games. Their set of pass catchers, however, can be improved. Sean Payton, the man who utilized the big and athletic Jimmy Graham in New Orleans, lands the big and athletic Colston Loveland.
20. Atlanta Falcons: DL Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M
Death, taxes, and a first round pass rusher from the Atlanta Falcons. Needing to improve their pass rush, the Falcons turn to a player with one of the highest ceilings in the entire draft class in Texas A&M’s 6-foot-6 and 290-pound Shemar Stewart. Playing 5-tech or 7-tech Turner is a heavy-handed and explosive ball of clay.
21. Houston Texans: OG Tyler Booker, Alabama
Quarterback C.J. Stroud is a true pocket passer who wants to step up into pockets and deliver strikes down the field. But right now he has no pockets to step up into because his interior offensive line is routinely cratering. Alabama’s Tyler Booker to the rescue.
22. Arizona Cardinals: DL LT Overton, Alabama
The Arizona Cardinals cannot keep a pass rusher healthy between BJ Ojulari and Darius Robinson. Even if both are healthy, Robinson can kick inside for some fun, and Ojulari may just be a pass rush specialist upon his return. Why not add another pass rusher with alignment versatility in Alabama’s LT Overton?
23. Washington Commanders: EDGE Nic Scourton, Texas A&M
The Washington Commanders have fast-tracked their rebuild, but still need to get Dan Quinn some firepower off the edge. Nic Scourton has a nuanced plan of attack as a pass rusher, is explosive, and plays with a hot motor. Quinn is going to love him.
24. Baltimore Ravens: OT Aireontae Ersery, Minnesota
There are two ways to look at this pick: the Ravens do not have Ronnie Stanley under contract beyond 2024. Even if the Ravens extend Stanley, they have needs along their interior. Minnesota’s Aireontae Ersery is seen as a tackle by some, and a guard by others. The Ravens get their pick here.
25. Los Angeles Chargers: OG Donovan Jackson, Ohio State
The Los Angeles Chargers have built a mean identity. They are a gritty team but need another mauler along the interior of their offensive line. Ohio State’s Donovan Jackson will fortify that for the Chargers, who are starting Trey Pipkins at right guard. Jim Harbaugh wants to beat up the team across from him down by down, and Jackson helps that cause.
26. Green Bay Packers: EDGE James Pearce, Tennessee
Trading away Preston Smith, the Green Bay Packers are now relying on former first rounder Lukas Van Ness to consistently win off the edge, and that is just not his game. They need another pass rusher. Tennessee’s James Pearce came into the season with the hype of the best player in the class. And while he has not lived up to that hype in 2024, he is still an explosive pass rusher who can bend any arc and steal any corner from opposing offensive tackles.
27. Pittsburgh Steelers: WR Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State
This pairing has been a mainstay for me in recent mock drafts. The fit with the team is just too good. The fit in their current wide receiver room is just too good. Ohio State has another first round wide receiver, what do you know?!
28. Minnesota Vikings: CB Shavon Revel Jr., East Carolina
After tearing his ACL in September, East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. might just slip down the board here into the back end of Round 1. The Minnesota Vikings need a long and explosive cornerback, and Revel will be ready to roll by training camp.
29. Philadelphia Eagles: EDGE Landon Jackson, Arkansas
The Eagles traded away Haason Reddick, but now Brandon Graham is retiring and Josh Sweat is set for free agency. Getting another pass rusher is going to be a priority for the Eagles this offseason. The massive and flexible Landon Jackson lands with the Eagles to soften the blow of losing two pass rushers here.
30. Buffalo Bills: DT Tyleik Williams, Ohio State
Outside of Mason Graham, it’s hard to find a defensive tackle playing better football than Ohio State’s Tyleik Williams right now. As the Buffalo Bills look for a running mate for Ed Oliver, Williams fits the bill at the back end of Round 1.
31. Kansas City Chiefs: RB Kaleb Johnson, Iowa
Isaih Pacheco has had to battle through injuries this year as the Kansas City Chiefs ride the ghost of Kareem Hunt to glory. They address a long-term hole at running back with Kaleb Johnson from Iowa. With lightning-quick feet, attentive eyes, and a world of patience, Johnson has grown into one of the best backs in the nation.
32. Detroit Lions: DT Kenneth Grant, Michigan
The Lions signed DJ Reader in the offseason and he is still under contract, and they have Alim McNeil on the roster as well. However, Brodric Martin has not worked out after being selected in the third round, and a contingency plan beyond 2025 to replace Reader is needed. The Michigan man stays in Michigan.
Round 2
Jacksonville Jaguars: OT/G Jonah Savaiinaea, Arizona
Tennessee Titans: OT Grey Zabel, North Dakota State
Cleveland Browns: QB Jalen Milroe, Alabama
Las Vegas Raiders: OG Wyatt Milum, West Virginia
New York Giants: CB Tacario Davis, Arizona
New England Patriots: WR Elic Ayomanor, Stanford
New York Jets: DT Derrick Harmon, Oregon
Chicago Bears: DT Deone Walker, Kentucky
Dallas Cowboys: LB Jihaad Campbell, Alabama
New Orleans Saints: EDGE Princely Umanmielen, Ole Miss
Cincinnati Bengals: DT Walter Nolan, Ole Miss
Miami Dolphins: CB Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: TE Gunnar Helm, Texas
Chicago Bears: S Kamari Ramsey, USC
Indianapolis Colts: CB Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame
Seattle Seahawks: WR Tre Harris, Ole Miss
Carolina Panthers: EDGE JT Tuimoloau
San Francisco 49ers: OG Armand Membou, Missouri
Denver Broncos: DT T.J. Donte Corleone, Cincinnati
Atlanta Falcons: CB Jahdae Barron, Texas
Houston Texans: RB Nick Singleton, Penn State
Arizona Cardinals: OT/G Emery Jones Jr., LSU
Washington Commanders: OT Josh Conerly, Oregon
Baltimore Ravens: WR Tai Felton, Maryland
Los Angeles Chargers: TE Harold Fannin Jr.
Green Bay Packers: CB Azareye'h Thomas, Florida State
Pittsburgh Steelers: LB Lander Barton, Utah
Buffalo Bills: CB Will Lee III, Texas A&M
Philadelphia Eagles: WR Xavier Restrepo, Miami
Buffalo Bills: LB Barrett Carter, Clemson
Kansas City Chiefs: TE Mason Taylor, LSU
Detroit Lions: OG Tate Ratledge, Georgia
